Accreditation

The Australian Pharmacy Council is the accreditation authority responsible for accrediting education providers and programs of study for the pharmacy profession.

Approved Programs of Study

An online search of approved programs of study across all professions includes the approved qualifications for general registration as a phamicist.

The list below contains the details of programs of study approved by the Board:

Programs of study classified as "Inactive" are not included in this list. An online search is available for Inactive Programs of Study for programs that are no longer delivered by an Education Provider or no longer approved by the National Board.

Substantially equivalent qualifications

If you hold a qualification that the Board considers to be substantially equivalent, or based on similar competencies to an approved qualification, you will be qualified for general registration in pharmacy.

The Board has determined the following qualifications are substantially equivalent or based on similar competencies, to an approved qualification:

  • University of Auckland Bachelor of Pharmacy, New Zealand
  • University of Auckland Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours), New Zealand
  • University of Otago Bachelor of Pharmacy, New Zealand
  • University of Otago Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours), New Zealand

Accreditation Systems Review – Board response to draft report

The Board submitted a response to the draft report of the Independent Review of Accreditation Systems within the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme for health professions which explains the Board’s views about the reforms proposed.
