Continuing Professional Development (CPD) FAQ

The Pharmacy Board of Australia has published frequently asked questions (FAQ) to answer common queries that pharmacists might have about continuing professional development. If this information does not provide you with what you are looking for, please contact our Customer Service Team on 1300 419 495.

Pharmacists can use CPD planning resources available from pharmacy professional associations or the Board’s blank template CPD plan/record (below) to develop and maintain their own CPD plan and record the activities undertaken. An example of the Board's CPD plan/record which has been populated is also available in the FAQ, which pharmacists can use as a guide.

Further information is also available in the CPD standard and the CPD guidelines.

Webinar presentation on CPD

The Board held a webinar on the continuing professional development journey in September 2016, ahead of the next CPD period for pharmacists starting on 1 October 2016.

You can watch a recording of the webinar presentation below which focuses on lifelong learning and on tips to meet the Board’s CPD requirements. Please note that the file size is quite large and it may take a while to load.

Webinar participants took part in a Q&A session. Answers to their questions are in a FAQ document (163 KB,PDF), Word version (63.9 KB,DOCX).

Read a transcript of the webinar recording, or view the presentation slides without audio:

Watching the webinar recording may count as CPD (unaccredited) and contribute towards you meeting the Board’s CPD requirements if one or more specific competency standards have been identified as part of your CPD needs and are met as a result of undertaking the activity.

Read the Board’s news item to see which competency standards apply.
